Synopsis

The Book Chapter titled "Agricultural andForestry Information Systems" unfolds seven chapters that delve into the challenges and innovations within the realms of agriculture and forestry. In the first chapter, the discourse on the design of the E-Farming information system highlights its role in providing early detection of harvest feasibility, underscoring the significance of information technology in supporting the agricultural sector. Moving on to the second chapter, the development of an information system for the collection of farmer and farmer group data emphasizes the pivotal role of information technology in enhancing agricultural productivity in Indonesia. The third chapter discusses the agricultural information system on sweet corn in Labanan, focusing on the efficient monitoring and management of land. Subsequent chapters explore topics such as the application for the distribution of plantation seeds, the information system for distributing palm oil fertilizer, and the implementation of a web-based Palm Oil Management Information System for mapping oil palm plantations. The final chapter delves into the Agricultural Potential Information System of Kutai Timur District, providing insights into data collection efforts aimed at improving farmers' income and identifying advantages in Sangkulirang Regency. By addressing current issues and proposing technology-based solutions, this Book Chapter offers profound and innovative insights into the fields of agriculture and forestry.

Author Biographies

Reza Andrea, Politeknik Pertanian Negeri Samarinda

Earned his Bachelor’s degree from Computer Science, Mulawarman University in 2012. In 2013 he was involved in a game development project as a leader of Bibir Design Studio and he was awarded the best 2D game developers of Indonesia Game Show (IGS). In 2014, Reza Andrea earned his Master’s Degree in Business Engineering from Department of Computer Engineering, STMIK Eresha, Jakarta. Now, he is a lecturer in Software Engineering Department in Polytechnic Agriculture of Samarinda and also work as Editor at Sebatik, Tepian Journal, and Tanesa Publisher

Aulia Khoirunnita, Mulawarman University

Born in Samarinda on August 17, 1993. S1 higher education at STMIK Widya Cipta Dharma (2015). While the Master's Computer from Amikom University (2022), Specialized in Information System and Audit System. Aulia is lecture in Informatic Department of Mulawarman University

Syafei Karim, Politeknik Pertanian Negeri Samarinda

born in Samarinda, December 7, 1992, graduated from the Department of Informatics Engineering, Faculty of Science and Technology, State Islamic University (UIN) Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang in 2014. Graduated with a Master’s degree in the Department of Informatics Engineering at Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology Surabaya in 2017. Started teaching at the Samarinda State Agricultural Polytechnic, Software Engineering Technology Study Program in August 2019 until now. Currently, the author focuses on research on the Internet of Things and Multimedia.

Adelia Juli Kardika, Politeknik Pertanian Negeri Samarinda

Born in Rappang on July 14, 1992. S1 higher education at Hasanuddin University, Faculty of Forestry, specializing in Forestry Spatial Planning and Information Systems (2009-2013). While the Master's education at the Bogor Agricultural Institute, Forest Management Science Department, Specialized in Remote Sensing (2014- 2017). Started his career at the Polytechnic Agricultural of Samarinda in 2019 as a lecturer in the Forest Management Department.

Nur Maulida Sari, Politeknik Pertanian Negeri Samarinda

Born in Samarinda, East Kalimantan on the 9th September 1989. Author's higher education started in 2006 in the Technology Department Forest Products, Faculty of Forestry, University Mulawarman Samarinda and graduated in 2011. The author then continued her education career path in 2013 in the Master of Science Study Program Postgraduate Forestry Program, Faculty of Forestry, University Mulawarman Samarinda and graduated in 2015. Writer was a Research Assistant during 2011- 2016 at Forest Products Chemistry Laboratory and became a team member research from several research activities in the Chemical Laboratory Forest Products, Faculty of Forestry, Mulawarman University. On In 2019 the author was accepted as a Civil Servant in Samarinda State Agricultural Polytechnic and served as staff lecturer in the Department of Forest Product Processing Study Program Forest Products Technology. The author actively participates in seminar activities including in 2013 the author attended a KTI seminar (Korea-Thailand-Indonesia) in Thailand and Polyphenol seminar in Nagoya University, Japan in 2015

Arief Rahman, Politeknik Pertanian Negeri Samarinda

He is a graduate Department of Agrotechnology Studies Undergraduate Program Agricultural Cultivation, Faculty of Agriculture, Agricultural University Palangka Raya in 2013 and graduated from Masters in Agronomy Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture Gadjah Mada University. Currently the author as permanent lecturer staff in the Management Study Program State Agricultural Polytechnic Plantation Samarinda has been active since 2019 until now participate in research and community services which was attended by the Ministry of Research, Technology and Education Higher Education and Ministry of Education and Culture

Rajiansyah, Mulawarman University

Born in Balikpapan, June 6, 1991. He has completed his master of degrees at the Faculty of Computer Science and Management, Department of Computer Science, Information Systems Specialization, Wrocław University of Science and Technology, Poland in 2018. He aspires to build education in Indonesia, especially in Kalimantan, to be better and useful for the people around. Now, he is a lecturer at Mulawarman University and CEO at Indeks Media Teknologi Inc.
